Royal Australian Navy Receive Software Upgrade

KDR’s lead Australian partner is currently engages in upgrading the AMPS software system on Royal Australian Navy’s two hydrographic ships, HMAS Melville and HMAS Leeuwin. This will introduce the ships to the full suite of AMPS functionality, including maintenance, supply, document management and change management. The upgrade is part of the Navy’s overall objective of standardising AMPS versions and usage across the entire fleet.
The ships are being upgraded at their home port of Cairns in North Queensland, with Eden staff working alongside NQEA and SMA personnel to complete the upgrade.
Also included in the project is the upgrade of the AMPS shore support environment and the full training of the ships’ three crews.
The upgrade project is scheduled to complete in January 2004.
